Laser Crystals --------- Nd:YAP
YAlO3 perovskite (YAP) is a well known host for solid state lasers. The crystal
anisotropy of YAP offers numerous advantages. It permits a small tuning of wavelength
by varying the wave vector direction in the crystal. Furthermore, the output beam is
linearly polarized.
